House rules

A short list, and most of it is about water. The cabin runs on a hauled cistern and a septic tank, which is normal out here and asks a little care from everyone who stays.

The entry hall: a white front door with an oval glass panel and a black keypad lock beside the handle, a wooden staircase rising to the right under a coat rail, and a doorway into the living area on the left.

Arriving and leaving

Check-in is any time after 3:00–4:00 PM. It is self check-in: the door has a keypad, so nobody has to meet you and a late drive from the airport is no trouble.

Checkout is before 10:00 AM.

Pets

Pets are allowed. Let us know on the listing who is coming with you so we can have the place ready for them.

Water

There is no municipal water on this stretch of road. Every drop at the cabin is hauled in and stored in a cistern, and when it runs out it has to be hauled again.

So: short showers, taps off while you brush, and full loads in the washer. It is the one thing we ask of every guest.

Drains

The house is on a septic tank. Nothing but toilet paper down the toilets — no wipes, no cotton pads, no cooking grease down the kitchen sink.

Cameras

There are exterior security cameras on the property, as listed on the Airbnb listing's amenities.

Longer stays

Long-term stays are allowed. If you're thinking about a longer stay, message us through the listing and we will work the dates out with you.

The rest is still being written

We are still putting the remaining house rules into our own words — the usual things about parties, smoking, quiet hours and rubbish. Rather than post a half-written version here, we would rather point you at the real one.

Until this page is finished, the house rules published on the listing are the ones that apply to your stay — they are the ones you agree to when you book.
